glyph 190: book . mark helprin . virtue, strength, wisdom, reality as some understand it to be . beethoven late quartets

On reading the first three stories in Mark Helprin's collection, Pacific, I became aware that I had come into a space familiar to me from listening to Beethoven's late quartets. What to make of this? In any case, it must be some kind of recommendation. -leif
