Foundational Technology: Cobalt is built using Croquet, an open source software development environment for creating collaborative 3D applications that run on multiple operating systems.

Cobalt is an emerging open source multi-platform application that facilitates group communication and helps people do collaborative work within interlinked virtual worlds. It is being built by individual software contributors and volunteers.
